With this one, I've never used one. I use a "Lil Tripper" from Land's End - it was affordable ($25), just the right size, and stylish enough for dad. The only time we take it out with us is if we are going to be going far from where we park or are going to be gone for a really long time- ie- the zoo. I am breastfeeding and she really doesn't need anything in the bag except for diapers. She turned 1 just 2 weeks ago. I've always just had a small back pack that holds a few diapers, travel size pack of wipes, a bottle (or sippy), a little snack and a couple small toys. I hate lugging around a huge bag on top of trying to maneuver my child. Keep it simple is my motto! I personally never used the big diaper bag, except for long trips. What are those? LOL!! Just kidding, a lot has changed in ten years!!!The diaper bag worked for me, I did not over pack, and kept our visiting time to a limit, I knew it was time to leave when we were running out of diapers! If he needs a drink, I take a sipper cup separately or he carries it with him. So much easier than lugging all that stuff about. Of course, this is for short term outings. If overnight, I have a small backpack for extras like bottles of food, snacks, etc. Life is so much easier now. (Just wish he would sleep through!!) The only time I really use it is if I am going out for whole day and need a lot of things. But I guess it's up to you. But saying that I have a 20 month old and a 11 month old baby so I use my pram back cause it's bigger and matches.
